The Napa Valley Wine Train has announced new programming for “Tasting on the Rails,” an experience that combines a seven-course gourmet menu paired with seven wines from six of Napa Valley’s AVAs (American Viticultural Area). Beginning on April 6, the “Tasting on the Rails” experience will offer dinner service starting at 6:20 p.m. The menu will be the same as served during lunch.
The Napa Valley Wine Train’s “Tasting on the Rails” experience launched in May 2023 and quickly became a guest favorite. Tickets include the following:
- Three-hour journey aboard the 1915 Pullman Lounge car, complete with an observation platform exclusive to guests of this experience
- Seven courses prepared to order by Executive Chef Rodrigo Cuadra, served as an amuse bouche and three duo plates
- Wines and sites from Napa Valley’s most prestigious appellations including, north to south, St. Helena, Rutherford, Oakville, Yountville, Oak Knoll and Carneros
- Seven wine pairings from seven sub-appellations of the Napa Valley, California’s first AVA, as the train passes through each respective AVA with history provided on each location and wine
- Five of the wines offered hail from the five AVAs that the train route passes through so guests can see the vineyards and experience those wines during the journey
Guests can immerse themselves in the history of Napa Valley as they sip and savor wines and gourmet cuisine prepared on the train by Executive Chef Cuadra and his team, inspired by fresh Wine Country ingredients paired with a selection of curated local varietals.
